OUGD503 Brief 01 Typography

TYPOGRAPHY

My issue now is to insert type. It has to suit with the messy background. Should I use conventional and simple type to balance the overall design? Or perhaps should I continue in that way and create a hand type with traditional tools?
I then tried for the title a hand drawn typography. I think it adds drama and a sens of slasher horror.

I've tried different method to do it.
-with a really big paintbrush
-with the paintbrush in my mouth
-with really fast movements
-with my eyes closed
-without paintbrush, just the ink and the paper

After feedback I noticed that people aren't agree with each other, there is two different 'team'. In one hand they think that clear communication is key and if I'm using a complexe background I have to use a clear type, or to try to make the background more subtile. In the other hand people think hand type adds to the cover and it's visually well done.

I finally chose the one where the letters are bleeding, for the obvious blood’s reference. It's more lively and it suits well with the background. Besides, by trying to find a balance of style and communication I used a clear typography for the other informations, named Conduit.
