THE STORY

The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13¾. Adrian is a young/teenage boy who express his self through a diary. He speaks about all the issues that can be link with teenage years. He indeed is worried about his parents divorce, his spots, his first love, his school etc etc...

It's a real boys diary. The book is written very funny. It's 'nice' to see what overcomes Adrian and how he struggles with the things of real life and life itself. He is a typical teenager that worries about typical things. It's a hilariously funny book

THE BRIEF

Adolescence is viewed as a transitional period between childhood and adulthood, whose cultural purpose is the preparation of children for adult roles. The cover must show that Adrian is on this period and try to deal with it with his diary. The cover should encourage children to pick up the book and buy it for themselves and should also engage adults to want to buy it for them.

CLASSIC COVERS

I noticed that every cover include illustration, many colours and a kind of hand drawn typography. I do think it's the things that works the best to attract children and their parents. Using lively colours seems important as well. Make the cover more visible and eye-catching.
